Distracted by Ravelry

I have almost nothing to say or to show because I got into Ravelry. At first I wasn’t sure it was so great but then I started joining groups and adding books and stash and projects and now I’m in love. I have spent hours on that site and I’m soon going to need a serious intervention or I’ll never get any knitting done. I’ve been forcing myself to work on a present but haven’t gotten too far. I used the Chevron Scarf pattern with RY Soft Lux yarn in Sable, one of the yarns I got at Webs because I knew I’d need this gift. The edges are curling but it is so soft and warm. I hope the recipient likes it.

A Great Vacation

I’ve been on a lovely vacation trip to New Hampshire and Vermont but before I left I spent a whole day finishing Mystery Stole 3 and the first thing I did when we returned home was to block it. I had so much fun getting the clues and knitting them and really learned a lot about lace knitting. The theme is Swan Lake and I wasn't sure how it would look but now that it is finished I love it. I actually used fingering weight sock yarn because I had a lot of trouble with lace weight and I'm happy that it came out larger and drapes so well. Please excuse my attire but I couldn't wait to try it on.
After all that lace knitting I wanted to give my hands a rest so I crocheted there and back and managed to finish this baby blanket and bib for a gift.
We used Nashua as a base to visit Lowell, Massachusetts, Kittery and Wells Beach, Maine and Franconia Notch, New Hampshire. Then we went to Ludlow, Vermont and drove from there to see the local sights and had a Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream tour. What fun! On the way home we managed to stop at Webs where I must say I went a little crazy and bought enough yarn for at least four sweaters, two pairs of socks and a few scarves. Hopefully, you’ll see them in months to come but I am a little overwhelmed thinking about all that knitting. I just have to take one project at a time.

Sockapalooza Rocks

My Sockapalooza pal Jenifer sent these gorgeous socks for me. My favorite colors are green and brown and she dyed these herself. She included the most dainty and beautiful stitch markers too, sized for different size needles. This was a wonderful surprise. Thank you so much Jenifer! My pal received her socks and liked them too. This was a great exchange.

Listing

I was number 8 on the list for the new Harry Potter at the local library and I got the book last Thursday. I’m so excited. I’ve been reading it slowly. Wow, it really starts off with a bang. It was hard to put down but I committed myself to knitting the Mystery Stole 3 so I stopped reading and finished clue 5. I don’t know; we’ve been thrown for a curve. The stole turns and uses short rows in a completely different pattern. We’ll just have to see how it looks when finished. Although some on the list have decided to make a duplicate second half and join them, I’ve decided to give it a try as written.
So where am I on Ravelry?
You signed up on June 20, 200.

I think I still have a bit of a wait.
This Saturday we went to Lincoln Center to hear the first half of an all Beethoven concert first performed in 1808. It was just wonderful. After we saw part of a puppet show that was a part of Lincoln Center Out-of-Doors. I love going in to New York City.
