Happy Holidays

It has been such a long time since my last post and I have been busy with holiday knitting, but that is really a lame excuse for me. I’ve just gotten involved with some very interesting projects and I didn’t even think about this blog. Except occasionally when I asked myself when I was going to take out my camera again in these dreary fall months to take some blog pictures. I did a knit along for Woolly Wormhead’s Mystery Beret and I just couldn’t stop making them. So far I have finished two for me and two as gifts. I was sick during Thanksgiving and spent four days in bed knitting. A friend loaned me the first season of Pushing Daises on DVD and while I knit I watched it. It is an adorable show and it really helped pass the time. I understand it is being cancelled next year. Too bad!

The hats were just so much fun and went so fast. Here is one of the gifted ones. I also finished another pair of Very Cabley Mittens in Malebrigo for myself. I finished them just in time for cold weather and I love wearing them. Now I have started the Noro Striped Scarf scarf that Brooklyn Tweed and the Yarn Harlot and quite a few others have made in Noro Silk Garden. I'll try to take a picture soon.
I also have been doing a lot of spinning. It is very addictive. Already my yarn is coming out smoother and thinner, but still far from what I want. I read somewhere that practicing 15 minutes a day is a good goal so I spin almost every morning at 6:30 am before I get ready for work.
The big news is that I am changing offices at the University where I work. I’ll be in a different department with totally new duties and I am both apprehensive and excited. I’m so sorry to say goodbye to all the wonderful people I work with now, but it was a promotion with a raise so I just couldn’t say no. I don’t know if I will have as much time for knitting but the challenge of a new job is good for me.
